As regular entrants in this autumn competition we were very happy with this years result, being that our Hook entry came 4th. Boxdale placed 12th overall from a field of 32. The result being calculated from both a Hook assessment score and Hoof assessment score. We placed 18th on the hoof which is a bit dismal however unshorn 8 month old ewe lambs straight out of a dry pasture paddock were selected, maybe they didn’t quite look the part but they sure stacked up on the hook, placing 4th with a yield of 51.6% was quite impressive, and I think you would agree the meat is what counts and I’ll just have to make them pretty for the judges next time!
